  1. The following represents the split of players based on the highest level they have achieved (so ‘International/Senior’ means the player has been capped or selected in an international or senior level squad). ‘Academy’ means they have been capped or selected in an academy level squad

So its look like Beth Mooney behind the pegs for Yorkshire and Beaumont will be digging out her ‘keeper gloves from the attic for Surrey (with apologies to Ravena Lakhtaria and Kirsty White if you are a wicketkeeper).

[Izzy Westbury is technically an international having played for the Netherlands – yes the Netherlands - in the 2005 European Championship
Steph Butler reached senior level by dint of her replacement of the injured Rebecca Grundy in the Test squad v India in 2014
Laura Spragg was capped 13 times by England in ODIs and once in a Test between 1999 and 2004
Lauren Griffiths played for England in 2010/2011
Laura Newton played 13 Tests, 73 ODIs and 3 T20s for England between 1997 and 2007
Arran Brindle – well you all know about her !]

    1. Kirsty White is a keeper.
Don't think Cait O'Keefe, Georgia Holmes, Nalisha Patel, Anna Nicholls or Sophie Mackenzie have ever been in Academy.

    2. Cait O'Keefe
Played for England Academy v EWDP U19 on 30th April 2015
      Georgia Holmes
Played for England Academy v Whitgift School on 26/06/2014
      Anna Nicholls

      Sophie Mackenzie

      Nalisha Patel
This is an error. She has represented England at U19 level but not Academy.

    3. May have played those games but were not genuine members of the Academy.

  2. Yes there's the small matter of Lancs Thunder's third overseas player being a certain Hayley Matthews... better update the page. Thanks to Clanger for some insight into the histories of some of the less well-known players. It helps for those of us trying to assess the relative strengths/weaknesses of each side.

  3. There are a couple of players who could be considered retired or semi-retired.
Unsurprising as this is the opportunity so many strived for since women's cricket brokethrough.

I strongly believe the ECB should've used this flagship as an opportunity to revamp the structure below, there are so many ways this could be done.

    1. Have an U19 WSL run in parallel for those missing out on the squads

    2. Restructure County cricket requiring a quota of U21s

    3. U19 county age groups instead of the huge gap to U17s
